YMCA offers CPR class: Counselor Caroline is hero lifesaver

Susan EspirituOur Town Health

Caroline is a YMCA child care counselor who had CPR training at the end of May. According to the YMCA social media, she used her newly learned skills just five days later as she was going to her study-abroad program when she noticed a man turning blue in the airport.

Providing care until other trained rescuers arrived, Caroline shared her story with her friends at the Y, adding, “Training helped me stay calm and know what to do.”

The YMCA reminds us that it is an additional layer of safety for our home to learn CPR skills. The YMCA offers community CPR and first aid classes quarterly at certain locations and the next class is the Tennova YMCA, Saturday, July 20. Register here.
