The Baseball Writers’ Association of America selected a three-person Class of 2024.
Todd Helton, a star at Central High School, the University of Tennessee and for 17 seasons with the Colorado Rockies, was selected on his sixth try.
Adrián Beltré, who played third base, and decorated Twins catcher Joe Mauer both achieved entry into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on their first BBWAA ballot.
