The best fireworks show around is back, after a pause for Covid, and will be held Saturday, September 3, from 5-9 p.m. at Wilson Park in Union County. The park is located behind Union County High School on Hwy. 33.

It’s a joint project of the Union County TN Chamber of Commerce and Nine Lakes of East Tennessee, presented by FirstBank.

Vendors will fill the hillside, but the event itself is free. No admission charge; no fee to park. County music will precede the Pyroshow fireworks with entertainers TJ Harris and KristeNicole. There will be a car show and food trucks.

No coolers or outside food, please.

Union County leaders work year-round to plan and implement this event. It’s a first-class production with cooperation from all segments of the community. At the first event, the Sheriff’s Office managed traffic. Everybody leaves at once after the fireworks. There was literally no wait as deputies stopped through traffic to let row upon row of vehicles exit. If you’re looking for something to do this Saturday, you won’t find anything better than this.
