Some sports seem to get all the attention when it comes to winning state championships simply because of our own connection to them: playing in the backyard, watching our kids on teams at the local parks, or traveling to endless practices and games.
Tennis is a sport that doesn’t get recognized as often, but the athletes who reach high levels of achievement demonstrate extraordinary levels of agility, speed, endurance, strength and perceptual skills.
Congratulations to the following Knoxville tennis athletes who demonstrated this combination of physical and mental skills, bringing state championships to their high schools.
