Gibbs Elementary School announced three teachers selected by their peers to represent the school as 2023 Teachers of the Year. The Knox County Teacher of the Year for each grade band will be announced from all district-wide delegates in February.
Naomi Stubblefield is a second-grade teacher in her fifth year of education. She states her favorite part of education is the “a-ha” moment when a student grasps a concept. She also enjoys looking for ways to make learning fun.
Shelby Linginfelter is a special education teacher in her fourth year in education. Linginfelter says she loves watching her students not only grow academically, but also watching them increase their self-help skills outside of the classroom. In working so closely with the families of her students, she feels as if she becomes a part of their family.
Holly Whittle is a fourth-grade math and science teacher in her 16th year in education. Whittle states that she loves seeing the students’ excitement when they learn new things.
Congratulations to these three dedicated educators.
