Next week we officially welcome winter. I say welcome because this most under-appreciated of our four seasons is one of my favorites. I like the cold. I love snow. Originally from Nebraska, I do truly dislike winter wind.

This is a small lake in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The reflection in the water, the falling snow and the way the grass warms the picture makes me smile. With a warm coat and camera in hand, maybe this winter you will find a subject that will help you appreciate the beauty that winter has to offer.

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Phoenix Building at 418 South Gay Street where you can stop and see their work. Their website is www.ChristopherRobinArts.com. All works are copyright protected.
