The Dining Duo is looking for the “hidden gem eateries” where the locals fill the breakfast and lunch hour; those local haunts tucked into the out of way or right on the way places missed in the hustle and bustle of the day.

We found one last week at Inskip Grill in Fountain City, tucked in at 4877 N. Broadway. We had a green tomato BLT with onion rings which came recommended. We were not disappointed!

Kaylee was our exceptional server at Inskip Grill in Fountain City

The menu has numerous options for burgers, each named for areas of town from the Panther Pride to the Farragut. There is a Happy Holler made with pimento cheese & bacon and the Bearden Hill is a bleu cheeseburger with blueberry compote & bacon.

Famous people are not forgotten including Elvis and a caramelized banana, peanut butter and bacon while the Archie Campbell is a pepperjack cheeseburger with bacon on a waffle bun. The Neyland burger includes checkered cheese.

There is a kid’s menu that just downsizes the price and not the menu, with a starter menu that could be a meal.

Don’t forget to add a shake to your meal. For us, our server, Kaylee, custom made a ½ chocolate and ½ coffee shake!

Hours: Sunday-Friday 11 a.m.- 8 p.m Saturday 11 a.m.- 9 p.m.
