Flying Anvil Theatre in Rocky Hill is offering a slate of summer camps that will teach acting skills to kids from 7-17. Professional actors and directors will lead the camps that focus on acting, musical theatre, improvisation and acting for the camera.
Artistic director Jayne Morgan uses her experience as an acting coach and casting director for commercials and films to design the programs.
“Our teachers have such an incredible wealth of experience,” she says. “They’ve been in many films, worked at Disney and directed numerous musicals. These week-long camps will give campers a chance to learn from professionals who are highly skilled and wonderful teachers. Campers will be able to perform for their parents at the end of the week.”
Teachers include David Dwyer, a Maryville-based film actor who has appeared in many films and television shows, from “Selma,” to “We Are Marshall,” to “Stranger Things,” “Ozark” and more. Krisha Brook is a Disney veteran who is also a member of Full Disclosure Improv Troupe and is a co-founder of the Gatlinburg Improv Festival. Leading the Musical Theatre Camp is Dana Wham, well-known as both a performer and director who recently directed “The Music Man” at Oak Ridge High School.
