The folks at Stormer’s Hardware opened on Christmas Day to provide plumbing supplies to customers with frozen pipes. The owner of Stormer’s said, “Open for a brief time Christmas Day and here is why.

“I saw way more people with busted lines today than I expected on the second morning of a deep freeze. Usually, the bulk of busted lines happen on the third morning, which is tomorrow. And no place with the supplies will be open, so I am going to open for a brief window from 2:30 to 5 p.m. for those in need.

“Things I DON’T have: Heat tapes/bulbs, gas/kerosene heaters, electric heaters; but I do have plenty of pipe fittings, some pipe, torches and propane.

“Merry Christmas, even if it is a difficult one.”

“The Rev. John Jordan and Lady Diane Jordan have decided for the past 39 years to wake up and love one another, through the good and the bad! Let’s celebrate with them,” Jamal and Leeann Badgett posted. “Happy Anniversary. We love you!”

Green Magnet Academy

Principal Jessica Holman welcomed Allison Comer, executive director of Muse Knoxville, as “Principal for a Day” at Green Magnet Academy. Comer got an opportunity to visit classrooms, interact with students and learn about all the wonderful things GMA is doing for its students and families.

Comer said: I loved being Principal for a Day at Green Magnet Academy! This STEAM-focused elementary school is doing incredible things for its students and families, and I am beyond grateful for our partnership. Thank you to Knox County Schools Partners in Education Foundation for making this event come to life – I hope that fellow community and business leaders left their schools with a firm commitment to invest in and support our public schools in whatever ways we can.”
