Services are today (3/24) for the well-known South Knox business owner James Edward “Ed” Lowe, who passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at age 94. He is survived by his sons Tommy (Jane) Lowe and Mike (Susan) Lowe and daughter Phyllis (Gary) Gitschlag, as well as 12 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
He was the founding owner of Lowe’s Auto Parts, Lowe’s Wrecker Service, Chapman Enterprises and Lowe’s Radiator Shop to name just a few. He earned his private pilot’s license and was passionate about flying his various planes for both business and pleasure. Mr. Lowe was both a Shriner and a 32nd degree Mason of 60 years.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 24, from 4-7 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at Valley Grove Cemetery, 9000 Sevierville Pike. The full obituary is here.
