Pat Sisson was one of the folks who made Halls unique. Traditional in many ways, Pat earned her living as a psychic, aka “the happy medium.” We were acquaintances for years, and I’d often contact her for a pre-Halloween story if things were slow. Not every ’burb has a practicing psychic.

The Halls Business & Professional Association notified the community of her passing on January 11, 2023:

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend and long-term resident of Halls and member of HBPA, Ms. Pat Sisson. She made an impression on everyone she met and will be missed. She was always smiling and looked for the positive.

She performed a tandem parachute jump to celebrate her 80th birthday and was always up to something. She told us at one meeting she could walk on water, just as long as she knew where the rocks were! We will miss her humor and sense of adventure. Our hearts go out to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren during this difficult time.

Born Patricia Sue Hinkle on May 21, 1936, in Bourbon County, Paris, Kentucky, Pat finished school there and attended Transylvania University in Lexington.

During her career, she was president of the Knoxville Hotel/Motel Association and was acting director of the Easter Seal Society of East Tennessee. She was an accomplished writer and lecturer. She leaves four children and their families. The obituary is here.

Family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. today (01/14/23) at Northside Christian Church, 4008 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, with the service to follow at 4 p.m. We’re going to miss you, Pat Sisson, and we’re so happy that you passed this way.
