Family and friends of Phil L. Nichols will gather today (10/11/24) at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church for funeral services at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Mr. Nichols, 73, passed away on October 4, 2024, at Sacred Grounds Hospice House with acute myeloid leukemia.
Mr. Nichols was best known for hard work and success in insurance sales. In 1980, he and his brother Doug accepted State Farm Insurance agencies in East Tennessee. From his agency in Halls Crossroads, Phil and his wife, Rheba, grew the largest book for life insurance in the over 100-year history of State Farm. The agency consistently ranks among top performers
In 2017, Ryan Nichols joined Phil at the office in Halls.
Phil at 6-4 was a skilled athlete, playing basketball center and football tight end/ defensive end in high school. He was recruited to several universities and chose Auburn. Learn more about his business and sports career in his obituary here.
It was a lucky day when Phil and Rheba Nichols chose to raise their family and build their business in Halls. They have been key contributors to youth and high school sports. And Ryan Nichols will keep that tradition going. Phil Nichols will be missed.
