Funeral services and visitation for James “Bear” Webb will be Friday, Aug. 2, from 2-5 p.m. at Blairland Baptist Church, 730 Steekee Street, Loudon, Tennessee.

The retired police chief passed away on July 30, 2024, at age 62. He worked for the Loudon Police Department from 1987 until his retirement in May 2022. He was police chief from 2003-2022. He also served on the Loudon City Council.

He and his wife, Tressea, started Bear Arms, a gun shop in Loudon which continues. Hugh G. Willett wrote a fine retirement story for the News-Herald which details Chief Webb’s career and ways he modernized the department. His obituary is here.
