Captain Mike Palmer has been promoted to battalion chief at Rural Metro Fire.
Chief Palmer joined Rural Metro Fire in Knox County in 1999 and was promoted to captain in 2018. He has spent most of his career in north Knox County with a stint in west and east Knox County.
His most recent assignment was Station 27 in East Knox County, where we took full advantage of his love for rope rescue work, according to Captain Jeff Bagwell. “While there, he spent an enormous amount of time training other squad rescue techs.”
Palmer is currently assigned to the west battalion chief on blue shift.
He is married with one daughter and lives in North Knox County.
