Legendary racecar driver Richard Petty, 87, made a special appearance on November 19, 2024, at the Food City in Ball Camp, 9565 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville. Petty came to thank Food City associates and customers for their outstanding work to raise money for Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Middlebrook Pike is not the largest Food City store, but its staff and customers outpaced all other stores in raising $10,500 for PVA.
These funds help PVA ensure disabled veterans receive the benefits they earned, the specialized health care they need, the meaningful careers they want and more. Since 2011, Food City has raised over $4.1 million dollars, with this year’s campaign raising over $415,000, to benefit PVA.
Richard Petty, seven-time NASCAR Champion, is national spokesperson for PVA.
