Join UT Arboretum education coordinator, Michelle Campanis, and naturalist/author Stephen Lyn Bales via Zoom for The Odd Birds in Our Midst on Thursday, November 7, 7 p.m. EST to learn more why these common birds aren’t so common. The November First Thursday Supper Club presentation is hosted by the UT Arboretum Society.
Nighthawks are not actually hawks but part of the nightjar family of birds. They are odd birds like crossbills, cuckoos, yellowhammers and owls with short ears. Loggerhead shrikes are killers, fierce songbirds that kill then abandon their victims impaled on spikes.
The program is free, but registration is required to receive your Zoom link and the recording. The program will be recorded and sent to all who register. Register here under Programs. Closed captions are available. Please contact Michelle at mcampani@utk.edu for any questions or registration issues.
