Weigel’s has upgraded its presence in the company’s hometown with a brand-new, state-of-the-art store at Clinton Highway and Emory Road. Just down the road from the Weigel’s corporate headquarters in Powell, the new location is the company’s 66th store.
Government officials, Weigel’s leaders and other local dignitaries were invited to the store’s grand opening June 6.
“We’ve had many requests to expand and update our presence here on Clinton Highway,” said Weigel’s CEO Ken McMullen. “We have designed this store to serve our customers best in every way possible.”
The new store has eight gas pumps, plus a variety of food options inside the store. The new Weigel’s Kitchen is a dedicated food service kiosk offering fresh pizzas, paninis, burritos, breakfast bowls and hot, soft pretzels ordered from a touchscreen ordering system. Other in-store offerings include fresh baked goods delivered daily from Weigel’s Knoxville-based bakery, hot and cold beverage stations and no-fee ATMs.
“Our focus is on fresh, local product offerings, and convenience is what we strive for every day,” said McMullen.
