It seems everyone I know is on vacation so a beach read recommendation from the book whisperer, Linda Sullivan, is quite appropriate for this week’s first venture into our new feature Our Town Readers.
Two covers made the cut for this week: Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan and The Sweetheart List by Jill Shalvis.
Same Time Next Summer is a first love, 13 summers later! Oh my!
The teaser from Linda:
“Sam never really got over Wyatt, her first love. Thirteen years after their tragic breakup, Sam is engaged to Jack. They are visiting Sam’s family beach house on Long Island for the weekend to plan their wedding. Guess who is staying at his family’s beach house next door? Sam has been reluctant to plan the wedding. But now! You can imagine the doubts that begin to surface after seeing Wyatt again.”
The Sweetheart List by Jill Shalvis is a return to Sunrise Cove in Lake Tahoe, California.
Teaser number two:
“Harper has left San Diego to begin a new life ( and a bakery) in Sunrise Cove.
Ivy is a runaway teen searching for her “sperm donor.” Bodie is an injured ATF agent who returned home to heal.”
Linda says she loves the vulnerability and forgiveness Shalvis weaves throughout the story. She says you will feel better after reading it. ( I love reading Shalvis too, having just finished The Family You Make, another one of her books that will leave the reader with a heartwarming sense of happiness.)
Not going to the beach but they are on my back porch reading list!
