Knoxville Catholic High School baseball team won its first ever TSSAA state championship on May 25. Staying in the winners’ bracket throughout the tournament, and winning tight contests by two runs in each game, the final match with Christian Presbyterian Academy proved equally dramatic. After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first, they never fell behind again but remained tied into the seventh until Ian Hubbard hit a walk-off single to end the game with a 4-3 win and the championship title.
