I am spending the week at Destin with family, due home on Sunday. Fortunately, we are hundreds of miles from the devastation of Hurricane Milton: truly a juxtaposition of realty.

Knox and Miliana watch the dolphins

We have enjoyed a week of serene times watching the dolphins happily leaping through the ocean’s wave through peaceful water that seems impossible to become so violent it could destroy homes and lives so easily.

We have watched sunrises coming up over the horizon, welcoming the day for our family to enjoy the days, while other families evacuate their vacations, or their homes, or decide to toughen it out, praying for survival when nature turns against them.

Embracing the unpredictability of nature can lead to a deeper appreciation for both the tranquility of vacation moments and the strength we find in adversity.

Ultimately, the contrast between the chaos of storms and the bliss of vacations highlights the delicate balance between enjoying life’s pleasures and respecting the power of the environment.
