My friend Angela Childers let me tag along on the most incredible trip to Thailand where she and her family immersed themselves in the unique culture, explored the breathtaking landscapes, visited historical landmarks and engaged in thrilling activities.

The bustling streets, new cuisines and ancient ruins provided a two-week unforgettable journey that will take me equally as long to recap through the incredible pictures.

Day 1: The family arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, to settle in, visit the Erawan Museum, the Iconsiam Mall all eight floors and rest up from traveling.

Day 2: This day was an eventful day spent at the Railway Market including shopping at a floating market ending with dinner on a cruise.

Day 3: The group toured the estate of businessman Jim Thompson, a silk merchant who mysteriously disappeared in 1967 when he didn’t return from a casual walk. The story is quite interesting. They completed the day visiting a Hindu temple and went to Chinatown for dinner where they saw some unusual offerings.

Day 4: Angela and Cameron headed to the botanical gardens.

Days 5: The group explored intact temples and the ruined Buddhist temples.

Day 6: The adventurers spent this day touring several beautiful intact temples and ended the day at a kick-boxing tournament.

Day 7: Island hopping was the excitement to end week one as they went to Phuket visiting an elephant sanctuary where guests can feed and bathe rescued elephants. Angela said, “We had no idea it meant we go in the water with the elephants. We thought we would be hosing them off. It was such a cool experience.”

I will be back next week to share the second week of this adventure of a lifetime!
