Summer break may be coming to an end, but there is still plenty of fun activities planned according to Elle Colquitt’s Outdoor Knoxville calendar and Knox County Parks and Recreation.

Wednesday, July 17: Fountain City Park
Kid A’Riffic Fun in the Park is sponsored by city of Knoxville Parks and Recreation. Every Wednesday, in June and July, 10-1 p.m. a free Fun in the Park for ages 2-12. There are booths with activities, crafts or games. Fountain City Park will be the Fun Park on July 17. Call 865-215-1705 for future parks.
Friday, July 19
Seven Islands State Birding Park offers a Beginner Birding Hike, 8:30 a.m. Cost $5 Adults, $2 Child. Info: Seven Islands State Birding Park at 715-630-6848. Join Ranger Ashlyn on a 3-mile morning hike to learn basic identification techniques and learning tools and resources. Upcoming events.
Sunday, July 21
Big Ridge State Park offers Creek Critter Exploration, noon, free. Info: Big Ridge State Park at 865-992-5523. Join Ranger Holly at the Grist Mill to learn about the macro-invertebrates that live at Big Ridge. Upcoming events.
