Disney’s Aladdin Jr. will be performed by Knoxville Children’s Theatre from Friday, February 16, through Sunday, March 3, with varying show times at KCT, 109 E. Churchwell Avenue.
This live musical production of Disney’s Aladdin Jr. is based on the 1992 Academy-Award winning film and 2014 Broadway show. We know the story of Aladdin and his three friends who are struggling in life until Aladdin finds a magic lamp with a Genie who has the power to grant three wishes.
This KCT cast has expanded the characters, added new songs and increased excitement to this new adaptation.
The play is performed by 24 actors from 9-17, with 16 veterans returning and KCT debuts for eight: Jase Farrington, Griffin Gilbert, Mason Johnson, Beckham Read, Afton Schuh, Benjamin Ward, Jesse Watson and McKenna Webb.

The set is designed by student designers from ages 10 to 17. KCT veterans Emma and Ava Reagan provide the scenic design with PJ Copeland providing the lighting design. Janie Long and Aubree Jones will design and build the costumes with assistance from Luna Chavez and Tabi Maanum. The prop masters are Lily Hungate, Layne Templeton and Fin Jump. The play’s stage manager is Delaney Rickman.
The show is directed by KCT Artistic Director Dennis E. Perkins. The musical director is Teresa Seals and the choreographer is Donya Walke.
