Santa Claus is coming to Halls. After a two-year hiatus for road construction, the annual parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, marching from Halls High School to Fountain Valley Drive. It is sponsored by the Halls Business & Professional Association and chaired this year by board member Travis Woody, manager of the Halls Food City.
Line-up starts at 12:30 and the parade will step off at 2 p.m. Woody has entry forms and information at Food City. Businesses will be asked to post information on message boards. HBPA president Michelle Wilson said cash prizes will be given for floats: $100, $50 and $25.
State Sen. Becky Massey will speak to the club’s membership meeting at noon Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Beaver Brook Country Club. Lunch is $10 and all are invited. Commercial Bank will be the business spotlight speaker in October, and psychic Pat Sisson is scheduled as spotlight speaker for November. PetSafe will present the November program and the club will elect officers. The annual gala will be Friday, Dec. 1, at Beaver Brook.
Nominations are being accepted for Halls Man and Woman of the Year. Nominations may be given to Darren Cardwell at the October meeting or left for him at Hallsdale Powell Utility District.
