DA Charme Allen said prosecutors in the Career Gang Unit obtained a 16-year sentence against a man who carjacked a woman in downtown Knoxville. The 32-year-old male dragged the driver from her car, jumped into the vehicle and wrecked it a short distance away. A female co-defendant pled guilty and was sentenced to eight years. The crime was captured on surveillance video. The victim had stopped to take her “friends” to the KAT Terminal.
