Founder of Three Jimmy’s has died

A visitation service for Sevier County business owner Jimmy Lee Woods will be held from 2-4 p.m. today (5/20/24) at Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville, Tennessee. Mr. Woods passed away on May 13, 2024, at age 81.

An engineer by trade, Jimmy Woods ended his career in the food service industry. Active as a young man, he battled Parkinson’s for some 25 years.

A graduate of Georgia Tech, he served in the U.S. Army as a civil engineer. He worked for Shell Oil in Texas before returning to Tennessee where he formed a partnership with Emery Battles to start Smith and Woods Management Corporation which owned grocery stores in Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee.

He was the founder of Three Jimmy’s Good Time Eatery in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, named for himself, his son and a friend. He is survived by his wife, Christina Woods, and others. The full obituary is here.
