If you want to learn something new or refresh out of date skills, the library has you covered. With apps and databases, you can pretty much learn anything. And I mean anything — from languages to car repair to coding. But it’s not always easy to navigate the resources available. The great news is the reference librarians at Knox County Public Library know all the ins and outs, and they are sharing their secrets. You can contact them directly for some individual help or sign up for one of these workshops:

Databases and Apps

November 14 | 5:30 – 7:00 | Bearden Branch Library

Want to learn more about the library’s online resources? Curious about what apps we have to offer? Join us for a presentation on free library databases and apps! Stay afterward for one-on-one app set-up and assistance, including Libby help. Please bring your own device.

Job Seeking 101

December 4 | 5:30 – 7:00 | Cedar Bluff Branch Library

Join a team of reference librarians for an overview of the job search process. Learn more about popular job posting sites, scams to avoid, and resume and interview tips. Receive one-on-one assistance with resumes, job applications, etc., after the discussion. The library provides a limited number of laptops; you are welcome to bring your own devices.
