Food City officials will host ribbon cutting ceremonies on Wednesday, July 24, 10 a.m. for the newly expanded/remodeled Food City, 4344 Maynardville Highway, Maynardville, Tennessee.

The grand re-opening celebration, which also begins Wednesday morning, will include special pricing on select items throughout the store.

“Our customers will find the same smiling faces, top quality products, exceptional customer service and competitive pricing they have come to expect from Food City, along with some exciting new services and conveniences,” says Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer.

Over 9,200 square feet of retail space has been added to the store, bringing the total square footage to 53,000+ and creating 75 new area jobs. The expansion includes the addition of a Starbucks café, offering a wide assortment of blended hot and cold coffees and beverages and an assortment of tasty breakfast sandwiches and pastries.

The meat, seafood, produce, grocery, dairy and frozen food departments were expanded to allow for added variety/selection. The food service department has been enlarged to make way for some exciting new services, including a fresh food bar featuring a variety of soup, salad and fruit selections, Asian wok, brick pizza oven, hickory smoker, a large selection of specialty cheeses, fresh sushi, a specialty cake shop and a fireplace.

The floral department has been expanded and moved to the front of the store. A new walk-up window was added to the Food City Pharmacy, which was also enlarged; and four new fuel pumps were added to the Food City Gas ‘n Go fuel center for a total of 10 pumps offering fuel/diesel.

“I would like to thank our loyal customers for their understanding and patience during the construction process,” says store manager Scott Inklebarger. “I think our customers will agree that these exciting new services were well worth the wait.”
