Stop by the outdoor table at The Emporium for Trees Knoxville on First Friday, March 5, which is Arbor Day in Tennessee, from 5-8 p.m. Trees Knoxville aims to raise awareness of our state’s Arbor Day (which is different than Knoxville’s Arbor Day in November and National Arbor Day in April). Trees Knoxville, formed in 2016, grew out of the community’s deep appreciation for trees and their many benefits. Their mission is to expand the urban canopy on both public and private land throughout Knox County.
Visit their website here for information about a free fruit tree giveaway on Saturday, March 13.
While learning about trees, enjoy Knox Opera for All from 5-7 p.m. Knoxville Opera continues presenting its free First Friday concerts outside the Emporium Center. The program, performed by mezzosoprano Aubrey Odle and tenor Wayd Odle, will include popular selections from Broadway, opera, operetta, Disney movies, and Neapolitan songs. Knoxville Opera Artistic Director Brian Salesky will host and accompany the artists. To enjoy Knoxville Opera’s past performances this season and the upcoming performance schedule, go here.
