Knoxville’s Farmers Market has become the Saturday morning go-to place. From 9 a.m. to about 1 p.m., farmers, bakers, craft vendors, food trucks and more occupy Market Square and the adjoining streets. People fill their bags with good stuff for the coming week in a festive atmosphere.

Last week I arrived even before most of the vendors to photograph the goings on. I was able to shoot some 200 images with wonderful early morning light and few customers, all the while trying to be respectful of the work being done.

The many bright colors, textures and shapes made it easy to find subjects. The peppers and mushrooms in particular captured my eye. You can find more images on our Facebook and Instagram pages under ChristopherRobinArts.

Who knew that this happens to be National Farmers Market week. I hope to see you Saturday!

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Phoenix Building at 418 South Gay Street where you can stop and see their work.
