Chrissi Callaghan Rhea, who passed away on November 8, 2024, co-founded a Knoxville-based business that has set the standard for mortgage lending in the Southeastern United States.

In 1989, Chrissi Rhea co-founded Mortgage Investors Group with Charles E. “Chuck” Tonkin II, who continues to work at MIG. According to the website, MIG started with just seven employees. Today, there are more than 300 professionals across 26 branches in 11 states.
