On Friday, August 30, 2024, the ribbon was cut on Phase 1 of the ADA upgrades at Carter Sports Park, 9094 Asheville Hwy., Knoxville, Tennessee.
In February, we shared, the Dierks Limbaugh article where his family raised funds through the My Son Shines Fund with the mission to advocate and raise funds for the new playground and picnic shelter at Carter Sports Park.
The MSSF officially allocated all donated funds totalling $23,736.73 on July 19. These funds will build a shaded and accessible picnic area adjacent to the playground with three picnic tables including one accessible table.
