Taking a break from the Hurricane Helene rescue effort in Western North Carolina couldn’t have happened soon enough, especially when that respite was a gifted ticket to the Tennessee-Alabama game on the third Saturday of October 2024.
You can read Marvin West’s column here at KnoxTNToday about the game but you probably already know that the Vols and their fans were smoking victory cigars after the contest.
As afternoon segued into evening at Neyland, Badger couldn’t help but see the possibility of a beautiful sunset generating over the stadium. A timeout for a fake injury in the third quarter was a great time to exit my seat and go check the sky.
The alpenglow clouds over the bridges that span the Tennessee River provided an opportunity to capture a photo of my hometown. The opportunity resulted in the image featured here.
For a photographer, seizing the moment wherever life takes you helps garner success. What can be grander than capturing a sunset while also enjoying a Tennessee football game?
