Early mornings lend themselves to fog dancing elusively among the Sparks Lane tree line in Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s here, or there, only briefly fleeting among the trees and meadows.

That short-lived, cat-feet fog is the point of this painting where I wanted to see if I could capture it long enough to put on canvas. As early morning moves on the fog burns off, and it’s just another day in a beautiful spot. Get outside to see the fog; but be early.

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week strive to share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville where you can stop and see their work. Check ahead to see when they will be there, as they may be off looking for more inspiration. Their website is www.ChristopherRobinArts.com. Email them at ChristopherRobinArts@gmail.com.
