Expoquip Inc. was named Small Disadvantaged Business of the Year by UCOR of Oak Ridge. The company was recognized at the UCOR Small Business Award Breakfast on Aug. 15 at the Doubletree Hotel in Oak Ridge.

Jorge Sanabria started the business about 20 years ago, serving national and international customers in the construction, earthmoving and mining industries. Six years ago, Deana Sanabria joined the company as director of government sales. Now the company serves state, federal and local agencies across the country.

“We currently serve several agencies in Oak Ridge including Department of Energy, CNS/Y12, Bechtel and UCOR. It is an honor to serve these agencies in the Oak Ridge Reservation and the East Tennessee Technology Park as their historical projects unfold,” she said.

“We appreciate these agencies and their dedication to stimulate the local economy by choosing to do business with local small businesses, such as Expoquip Inc. It is this economic stimulation that allows our small companies to grow and employ more people, therefore boosting our local economy!”

Deana Sanabria said it takes hard work and commitment from all employees for a small business to impress and meet the stringent demands of large federal contractors like UCOR.

“We are very proud of our team here at Expoquip and the dedication our employees have to strive for excellence for every customer and on every contract!”

The company is based at 6636 Central Avenue Pike. Info: https://expoquip.com/
