Linda Sullivan has a recommendation rewind for readers this week with the Chicago Stars Series by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, who is called the queen of football romance by the Wall Street Journal.

We previewed the first two Chicago Stars Series novels in September, and recommend her latest with No. 9 When Stars Collide and No. 10 Simply the Best, which was just released yesterday.

Linda says Sarah Elizabeth Phillips is her “FAVORITE” romantic comedy writer, and she created the sport romance genre. She continues to rave about The Chicago Stars series and that she has reread each one at least once with some multiple times. “If you like the idea of a hunky football player falling in love with a quirky heroine, this is the series for you!”

When Stars Collide focuses on a back-up quarterback and an opera diva with a mystery twisted throughout. Linda says she read and listened to this one and became intrigued by the opera.

Linda can’t review Simply the Best yet, but you can be sure it is a thriller as the teasers on the websites hint at an “unfortunate murder.”
