Searching for fall color and low traffic, my painting friends and I found ourselves on the Foothills Parkway. The first to arrive, the foggy smoke obscured my view but left me feeling peaceful and appreciative of nature’s beauty.
Preparing to paint, I was unsure what the day would bring. Would the view improve? Would the skies clear? A small green maple was intertwined with a red creeper vine resulting in a boisterous combination. The orange color was on point. As I finished the foreground the clouds broke and the distant mountain tops lit up to show off for us. The gamble paid off. It was a good day for all!
