On Saturday, October 7, the Rev. Dorothy Pratt provided a special time for the pets who live in our community and the members of the Church of the Good Shepherd.
All gathered on the church’s front lawn, adjacent to Central High School, for the “Blessing of the Pets” ceremony.
Some very special pets were brought, as described by church member Ruth Anne Hanahan.
Ruth Anne said, “The sounds of a boisterous German Shepherd with feet the size of saucers and missing a leg brought smiles to all. A kitty was walked over in a stroller and even a photo of a feline born without eyes was blessed. The air was crisp, and the sky was an eye-popping blue. What a way to begin the day on such a stellar morning in Fountain City!”
