Contemplating which image to use this week, I thought of the hustle and bustle that comes with this season. Searching for a couple of images that, at least in my mind, turned chaos into peaceful, I found these.

The first is an abstract taken using a slow shutter speed of a cascading creek in the Smokies. By slowing it down, the chaotic movement of the water becomes soft streaks of light against the darker rocks. Maybe there is a hidden message that slowing down just a bit will smooth out the hard edges of the season.

The other images are in downtown Knoxville after a snow. There is a silence that overcomes the city when it snows, an amazingly quiet place until reality returns. Early risers, and especially the dogs, have some extra spring in their step enjoying the city as few others see it.

Art gives every time someone sees it and supports local creators and small businesses. If you need a last-minute gift, find it from a local artist.
