Today you get two for the price of one. One was taken on the way home from an early morning workout, the other after driving to the Foothills Parkway in the dark. Both are from last week and neither is a prize winner. I doubt that either will ever be printed or posted beyond this today.

So why bother? My point is that people will seldom see the thousands, actually tens of thousands of images that I have taken over the last 10 years. One in a thousand might make it to print and some of those will touch someone enough that they would like a copy for their home or office.

Parkway Sunrise by Chris Rohwer

So again, why bother? Photography is my excuse to get up and be outside. It challenges me to go to new places, look for different things and to slow down and observe the conditions around me. I am always looking for interesting light, atmospheric conditions and creative compositions.

If you think you might like to try something with your own photography, get in touch with me. There are lots of classes, clubs and photographers in the area who are willing to help.

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Phoenix Building at 418 South Gay Street where you can stop and see their work. Their website is www.ChristopherRobinArts.com. All works are copyright protected.
