The property transfers recorded on the 150 Warranty Deeds had a cumulative value of $74.86 million. Nine of the sales last week were priced over $1 million. The most expensive was a commercial transaction for property in the Northshore Towne Center complex. ORNL Federal Credit Union purchased the 9.53 acres adjoining the bank property on Thunderhead Road/ Town Center Blvd. from ASR Northshore TC I LLC for $8.35 million.

The only other commercial transfer was also in the western part of the county. D.R. Horton Inc. purchased 10.35 acres on Catlett Road which also has frontage on Snyder Road. Leonard Development LLC sold the land for $1.55 million.

If you receive mail from a company offering to provide a copy of your deed for an exorbitant amount, please disregard. This is not from the Knox County Register of Deeds office. If you would like a copy of your deed, we can provide that to you at a minimal cost. Call the office or check our website to request copies.

While we are on that subject, homeowners in Knox County have a free tool for keeping property safe from fraud. Our Property Fraud Alert program will alert you via email if any documents are recorded in the name you enroll. Just go here and follow the prompts. If you have questions, call us at 865-215-2330.

Have a good weekend!    Nick
