More than 100,000 votes have been cast in Knox County thus far, reports Chris Davis of the Knox County Election Commission. Any voter can vote at any early voting site. Saturday voting – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 26 – will be available at 10 sites:
  • Carter Senior Center (9040 Asheville Highway) in east Knox County
  • City County Bldg. (400 Main Str.) downtown – Free parking in Dwight Kessel garage on weekends
  • Downtown West (1645 Downtown West Blvd, Unit 40) – west Knoxville
  • Eternal Life Harvest Center at Five Points (2410 MLK Jr. Avenue)  – east Knoxville
  • Gibbs Ruritan Club (7827 Tazewell Pike) – northeast Knox County/Corryton & Gibbs
  • Halls Recreation Center (6933 Recreation Lane) – Halls/north Knox County
  • Knoxville Expo Center (5441 Clinton Highway) – northwest Knoxville/north Knox County
  • Meridian Baptist Church (6513 Chapman Highway) – south Knoxville/south Knox County
  • New Harvest Park (4775 New Harvest Lane) – northeast Knoxville
  • Village Green Shopping Center (11437 Kingston Pike) – Farragut/west Knox County
Karns Senior Center is closed on Saturday but will reopen on Monday at 8 a.m.
Baker School, 1640 Cumberland Ave., on UT campus will open Monday, Oct. 28, and continue through Oct. 31 on this schedule:
  • Monday, October 28 – 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 29 – 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 30 – 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 31 – 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For the first time ever in Knox County, 12 locations will be open for early voting for four days next week. The schedule is:

  • Monday, October 28 – All 12 locations open from 9-6 (except Karns Senior Center, 8-5).
  • Tuesday, October 29 – All 12 locations open from 9-6 pm (except Karns Senior Center, 8-5).
  • Wednesday, October 30 – All 12 locations open from 8-8 pm (12 hours) (except Karns Senior Center and Meridian Baptist Church – both 8-5)
  • Thursday, October 31 – All 12 locations open from 9-6 (except Karns Senior Center, 8 to 5; and Meridian Baptist Church,  8-3).

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Tuesday, October 29. Anyone wishing to vote absentee can call the Election Commission at 865-215-2480 or can download an absentee request at www.knoxvotes.org. Election day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024, with polls open from 8-8.

Vote like it matters – this year more than most, it does.
